AXIS is a family run business of dedicated creatives who have a passion for working in the arts and design.
With their knowledge of the industry and combined experience, Lia and Derek saw an opportunity to create a space to bring their skills together, and so AXIS was born.
Working with an extensive network of like minded creatives AXIS services all areas of the arts including design, builds, hires and production for film, tv, theatre, events, photoshoots, interior design and styling.

Lia
Lia is a wealth of creative knowledge. With over 20 years in the industry, many of them as a Creative Lead, her experience in the arts is invaluable.
As she is curious by nature, her background in design quickly evolved into a desire to think beyond the page and naturally progressed into leading projects which allowed her to use all of her creative senses. She is as happy creating a bespoke custom design for a client as she is designing an event space for thousands of people to visit, or putting on her interior designer hat and creating a new vision for an existing space, with the technical skills to do just that!
Having spent time in creative agencies working for large brands, to designing boutique events and activations, or running her own successful design practice, Lia sees the opportunity at AXIS to combine the love and dedication that is required for all aspects of the creative journey into one.
When she is not in work mode you can find her outside adventuring, playing with her two cheeky dogs, hunting down some delicious food or tucked up in a good book.

Derek
With over 15 years professional experience and a passion for creative arts, Derek has worked his way through the film and television industry.
From the humble beginnings of film catering and production running to finding his home in art department, Derek quickly adapted to the fast-paced world of Buying, Set Dressing, Standby Props and Set Decorator.
As a seasoned crew member himself he has worked on everything from TVC's and local dramas to international feature films, with some of his credits including Neighbours, Halifax, Clickbait, Fires, Love Me, Scrublands and Windcatcher.
Specialising in sourcing unique set pieces, running teams, interpreting briefs and dressing sets, Derek’s real passion lies in custom builds, prop making and set construction.
When not running AXIS with Lia, Derek spends his time playing basketball, golf, surfing, listening to records and running with his two large energetic dogs, Roy and Bowie.
